RE: 17' Hi-Lo with a Jeep Liberty...

We had a 24' hi-lo for years and towed it with a ford expedition. This was a pre-slide model and it weighed 3400lbs. We hardly knew if was back there except for the occasional sway - esp if you try to go to fast. The sway bars are a necessity! We also got 13 mpg while towing. BTW we loved the hi-lo! I think they are a great travel trailer. I also think you'll be happier with the 17' than the 15'. The extra seating capacity will be something you will not regret having!

RE: Just of a thought of thankfulness!!

I absolutely agree! My boys have also grown up camping and it has been a great experience for them. They have experienced many situations and gone many places, starting out in a tent! I agree that it makes your family much closer!

RE: Membership KM Resorts

It seems like there are always more complaints about these memberships that post from folks that are happy with them! I'd be really careful and read the fine print!

RE: yellowstone or grand canyon for first out west trip

That's a lot to see in one trip! I would split it up. You could also do more of an exploratory trip and try to see it all, then decide where to go back to later and spend more time!
Whatever you decide - have fun! It's all beautiful.

RE: Reservations needed?

October 17th is a school holiday at some Florida schools. Your probably ok without reservations until that weekend. I think many parks will be full then. Happy Camping!

RE: Badlands Trip

We did it all in a few days and then wished we had stayed longer. We were on our way to Yellowstone and did not allocate a lot of time for the badlands. We were surprised by all there was to do there and what a great place it was to visit. We hope to go back some day!

RE: Lake Texana SP

Lots of deer and lots of fish! You'll have to pick a site from what's available when you get there. We like to be close to the water, but it can get a little windy!

RE: Bahia Honda question

Yes, they have 30 and 50 amp. These are large spaces - as I remember there is no shade and the sites are all gravel. You'll have a great time! The keys are beautiful and a great place to be in November!

The Florida Keys are great to visit that time of year! The campsites there do book up fast, I don't know if you can get anything this late.

RE: St. Joe Pennisula State Park

Yes the beach is beautiful but the campground leaves a lot to be desired! The spot we camped in had the hookups on the wrong side?? We pulled into the spot so we could hook up, but we could not pull too far in because of the sand! I felt like we were camping in the road! Speaking of the road - what happened to it? I guess one of the hurricanes washed part of it away! We really did enjoy the beach here but it is remote - not much else to do!

RE: Need A stop over from Missouri to Disney World........

When we stay in a Walmart we look for a "safe" area to camp - hopefully next to another RV! We pull in late and leave early. Only one time have we had anyone tell us we could not sleep for a few hours at a Walmart and that was in Kissimmee, Fl near Disney World.
